fraricgofusre.ga Mar 7, Update 9/14/ Installing Mac OS X Lion within a virtual machine is made significantly easier with VMWare Fusion 4. All you need to do is. Testing Mac OS X Lion doesn't have to mean buying a Mac, calling on your neighbor or PC or laptop and enjoy a virtual Mac OS X Lion with VMware Player.
I immediately upgraded the memory from 4gb to 8gb and I just recently upgraded my hard drive from GB to 1 TB. While some people like shopping in stores, I love shopping on Newegg.
Installing VMware Fusion 4 is very simple. After downloading the file, click to open the downloaded file and drag the file to the Application folder.
From the dock, select VMware Fusion. Select File New and the virtualization wizard appears. Fusion 4 has a completely new and streamlined user interface and is easier than ever to create snapshots of your existing virtual machines. Click Continue to start the installation. Agree to the license agreement and then choose the hard drive you want to install OS X to.
It should say Macintosh HD and be the size you setup for the virtual machine. Click Install and OS X will now be installed. Once the installation is complete, OS X should load up and you should be able to log into the desktop. Kind of a long process, but pretty straight-forward. If you choose the Install from recovery partition option, the procedure is pretty much the same.
First, it will load a screen where it will look for the recovery partition and if it finds it, it will bring up a dialog to save your virtual machine. Give the virtual machine a name and location and click Save.
Go to the settings of virtual machine and add a hard disk, select existing option and browse the Lion installer image VMDK file we created by previous guide. You can modify the memory size and increase number of processors based on physical computer processor cores.
Start the virtual machine now. It should boot now.
Have edited it in. It should boot now. By providing DirectX The screen stays black even after about five minutes. Click Install and OS X will now be installed. Ill keep you posted.
It will boot from 5GB vmdk file we created as bootable installer image. Create a partition as shown below.
Complete the initial configurations and setups at the next boot. Take a Snapshot before do anything now!
Network inside Lion virtual machine worked out of the box. I configured NAT and Bridged network types which worked nicely with my physical internet connection. Install VMware tools to increase the screen size and get more resolution options, also VMware shared folders work fine without any network between Lion guest and Windows 7 host. This helps to share data between host and guest easily.
After adding sound card to virtual machine and install VMware tools, still sound is the problem. If sound works for someone, please share how you did. To Install VMware tools, mount the darwin. Restart the VM. Here are the available screen resolutions after VMware tools installation to increase the screen size.
